Soft Fascination

Soft fascination can be defined as attention held by a less active or stimulating activity that provides the opportunity to reflect and introspect. The act of walking in nature and letting your mind wander.

Part of an exhibition entitled ‘My Gippsland girl’. A series of works exploring the symbolism of coal smokestacks interwoven with the rolling hills of Gippsland. My protagonist for these works is a local woman with red braids, smoking like a chimney stack, her figure like an ornament in the landscape.
